Dreams are simply a concept, and a psychologically controversial one at that. Theories like Sigmund Freud’s suggest that dreams have latent content also known as a deeper meaning. Given that hypothesis, it is implied they can give us insight to what our desires truly are. It is irrevocable to surpass your longings; they also give us an innate and an intrinsic drive that is irreplaceable and contributes to higher achievements. Contrasting theories relayed are that dreams simply are just your brains attempt at interpreting external stimuli.

Having visions, goals, desires and that thereof give us the opportunity to accomplish true contentment. When we are young life is magical and I believe it is because we find sheer joy in that we see anything as possible; we are not afraid to dream and believe in the unbelievable. As we progress through the stages of life and adapt to our occasionally pessimistic surroundings, we lose the courage to dream in the not so common solicitations we are faced with on an everyday basis. Sometimes individuals have a hard time coping with failure even though in reality it is a stepping stone in the process to victory. When we face our fears head on all we need is a little faith which is a notion we can only grasp from our dreams. Some may even encourage keeping your jejune ways to not see reality in a darker light.

If people didn’t follow their dreams, then we must consider the concept that our world would most certainly not have progressed economically, socially, or industrially as it has. One example that we see every day is the desire to live the American dream. Without perseverance, hard work, and a desire to accomplish then people like John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, John Dejoria, and etc. would have never made such huge contributions to society. So many in our world start from the bottom, the literal gutters of society, and by believing in themselves and others they can accomplish the unthinkable.

I believe dreams are two sided; they give us inspiration and sometimes even clarify what we want to do with our lives.  However, all things are derived from emotion and our experiences. Things that we go through on a day to day basis may alter the rest of our lives; things such as love, habitual anger, or depression. Watching scenarios may alter our perspective on how to behave in situations and influence our dreams.

There are really so many notions that contribute to the idea that dreams fuel our soul. By following our visions we can inspire others around us and make the world an altogether better place. If everyone walked the path of their dreams there would be no hatred and misery going to work, people would want to accomplish their best due to the fact that they would ultimately just be enjoying their desires.

Sometimes even just defying others perceptions of you may be enough to push you to undertake the incomprehensible in your eyes. Our lives are short and everyone has different levels of importance; for some it may be an extrinsic motivation making others proud and receiving reward, while others significant meaning may only involve self-approval. Either way life is about being happy not trying to justify misery so whether it is becoming the next president, a teacher, or a lawyer you should never give up no matter how high the stakes.

The cure to anxiety or depression can be found in so many things. I believe love is one of the main contributing factors though, loving people, loving work, loving nature, you can find love in anything and it can make you happy which in turn relays emotions you find in your sleep. To follow your dreams is to change your life, your outlook no matter the reason. It will lead you to new experiences; show you your capabilities (especially the ones you were unaware of).

The importance of dreams and desires can be translated to mean one thing… inspiration. You will laugh more, smile more, and maybe the food will just taste a little bit better. Life is a competition even if you don’t view it as one and when we follow our dreams you have just a little bit better chance at becoming a better you. There is an unbreakable connection to life and desire; no matter what the yearning is do not ignore it, it will only become greater, just give in. Give in to the dream.

The Meaning

What is love really? Is it those oh so wonderful gestures, the sweet romantic notions, the premeditated collection of supposedly spontaneous events that take place with that “right” person. Well, i think only someone in love or someone who has experienced time with their significant other can really tell. From what I know…which is not much love is being willing to sacrifice everything for one person just so you know they’ll be happy. I don’t know if there is someone out there for everyone but, I imagine everyone has the possibility of finding true joy. However, i dont think you can be truly content sharing a life with anyone else if you are not content by yourself. So i guess the moral of the story is be happy with yourself after all there’s no one else that can be you.

“To bigotry no sanction and to persecution no assistance”

-George Washington (letter to Jews in 1790)

In a materialistic world we rely solely on our own gain of production, even though it is nonessential to our wide list of necessities. We tend to inconspicuously doubt whatever “higher power” is above; and yet in one instance we can be deprived of the numerous span of obligations we tend to face every day, simply because of our repetitive, egotistical ways. In order to come to terms we must primarily realize our jejune ways and focus on becoming slightly less diplomatic in our own minds. As a people we elude reality and are quite sincerely oblivious to the rapid origins in society. We are for some odd reason compelled to think in a narcissistic manner; we laud selfishness. Our aptitude for growth is based on a superficial probability. We are simply incapable of clearing our bedlam in a distinct and reliable way without causing destruction and ruckus. On the down side you reap what you sow.

Express your beliefs

“To preserve the freedom of the human mind then and freedom of the press, every spirit should be ready to devote himself to martyrdom; for as long as we may think as we will, and speak as we think, the condition of man will proceed in improvement.”

-Thomas Jefferson

To condone is to concur. When you have a certain feeling towards something and you  constrain from sharing rather then contending further on the subject you prove yourself without conviction and you become culpable just as much as the next man. The particular topic becomes immutable also, in a way you inadvertently become submissive to whatever it is that you had previously wished to intervene on. After all, that is the reason we have freedom of speech is it not, surely the first amendment is not inconsequential to you. We function not only on tradition but, also on innovation. Subsiding your feeling is not only harmful to you but it can also be harmful to the way our society is regulated.

Deeper Meaning

Sometimes you have to look real close to see the beauty in things.

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.”

-Corrie Ten Boom

Do you ever wonder how can I fix this? What can I do to make this better? I find it irrelevant, truthfully why would you worry about tomorrows problems instead of facing today’s… When and if you decide to stress about something in the future all you are simply doing, is adding unnecessary pressure for something that you aren’t even really sure is going to happen. Catastrophes take place on occasion and if I may be blunt, there is nothing you can do to stop them sometimes. This is also where accountability comes in, I am not telling you to be a carefree drifter but if you take care of your responsibilities then you shouldn’t be in over your head. Being burdened by future struggles is discretionary and brought on by ones own mindset. Things change it’s life, and everyone seems to be waiting on some sort of cue. There is no need to comprehend or grasp apprehension but instead dispose of it.

“To endure is the first thing that a child ought to learn, and that which he will have the most need to know.”

Without moxie what do you have? Why should society share such a juxtaposition on our aimless mindsets. Having a hard backbone is important, it makes you who you are, shapes our perspectives. The problem with our rising youth is that they don’t know how to state their opinion, and if they do, they display themselves with utter mediocrity. The new age is full of illusions and norms; thinking we need to vote for the black man or the pro choice women, the poor man or the old man…all to diminish the notion of separation and inequality. Its not about race or money its about character, integrity, and patriotism, a concept so hard to grasp by our ever evolving world. We don’t know what labor is…the working citizens are being overcome by the citizens living on welfare, and we ask why we are in debt. We make up stats and embellish events that may be to our advantage. Sometimes life just takes endurance, life takes effort and thought, and passion. Sometimes doing the right thing requires an ethic we no longer teach.

Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

-Lord Chesterfield

Quite frankly I can not fathom why someone would waste precious time on something that they possess not a care in the world for, but rather they find a nuisance. I think people thoroughly and without reservation, contradict themselves without even the slightest hint of realization. If you are passionate about something you have a desire to excel in the field, whereas when you dislike something there is no drive a sense of erroneous workmanship begins to come into play. If you are being forced to do something against your will that you remain particularly indifferent to, rather than waste time why not improve and develop skills that you actually want? I’m not saying your technique or finesse will instantaneously become above average, however why squander valued time on lousy craft. If you can not devote your whole self in its entirety, you will never be the winner of this game that we call life.

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.

-Mahatma Ghandi

When you make a mistake there is no guarantee, no infallibility of forgiveness. In humanity there are countless weak links and then ever so often you happen upon a truly powerful, strong person. These people are a rare breed they seem to compel you to reach a higher standard, to be a better you. In many cases they have not always been this honorable person, more than likely they have been through  circumstances that have shaped them into what they are. Sometimes they can help you realize that everyone deserves a second chance; however this perspective is not meant to imply that you should let people “walk all over you”. Be confident, support your beliefs, and be what you would like to be seen as, and if at some point in time a person wrongs you do not be fast to judge; instead state your thoughts in a conscientious way and simply move on. Forgiveness derives from love and love is what makes life worth living. After all life is a series of unfortunate or fortunate events all depending on perspective.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”

-Tale of Two Cities

Such a simple parody and yet the irony of it all. I find this quote to be so complex and yet a great amount of utter simplicity in those twelve little words. Funny…how one minute in our fast-paced society you can be so to speak metaphorically riding on top of a cloud and yet, in a quick glimpse of the future you find yourself lost in a span of agony. Quite depressing actually, the despair so many people in so many cultures face every day. So i guess my “point” in all this rambling is how can life be so good and yet so bad? Truthfully I believe this is caused by our drive and our illogical survival of the fittest ways. It is unfortunately a dog eat dog world, and in order to survive you must sacrifice your soul. It is up to you to decide whether or not it is worth it…do you choose morals or do you choose to yield to the bleak superficial happiness the world supplies you.
